"The Supreme Court sharply curtails the authority of the EPA to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions that cause climate change. In a 6-3 ruling, the court sides with conservative states and fossil-fuel companies in adopting a narrow reading of the Clean Air Act."
"The Supreme Court ALLOWS the Biden administration to terminate the controversial Trump-era asylum policy known as "remain in Mexico." Red states argued that Biden was obliged to keep the policy, but SCOTUS says in a 5-4 ruling that the administration can end it."
I disagree. The state has more authority than the federal government has over contractors, which does not mean that it necessarily passes constitutional muster.
This was a very odd Americanism. Because basically everywhere else, if you had a previous infection, that would count as protection. Only in America did they say: you have to get n vaccines as well.
I agree, I am just not sure if they are unconstitutional. If you asks me, yes I would like them to be, but I also don't want to be like the left that does not know to distinguish between what it considers desirable and what is in the C.
Even state mandates are unconstitutional as since there are no religious exemptions provided, it violates the first amendment.
Leftists try to use Jacobson vs Mass as justification but that case only involved a fine for not taking a vaccine.
It is really not that difficult to pass a ruling that these tyrannical mandates are unconstitutional.
Isn't a fine considered more punitive than loss of a job or being prohibited from entering restaurants in law? Certainly, it requires more due process.
Probably not. But the job of judges is to interpret the constitution faithfully, not work hard to arrive at a result that you - or I - find pleasing, right?
I don't care about the intended job of a judge at this point.
I care about preserving my civil liberties and preserving America from the authoritarian left.
To do this, Republicans must play on the same field as Democrat judges.
I think it is time for our judges to do what it takes to win not just lose honorably because of principles.
David French's cuck establishment conservatism is ineffective.
You know what? I respect your honesty. I've spoken to so many leftists who argue about abortion without being honest that they just want judges to encode their policy preferences. The dishonesty is crazy.
I'm not like that (and I am not a conservative). But I think you cannot have a civilization without the rule of law.
