Correct. Essentially SCOTUS had originally interpreted RvW as being a constitutional issue and thusly abortion was included in the bill of rights. But, many experts contented that the interpretation was based on flawed reasoning. Now SCOTUS has reviewed the ruling and determined that RvW is not a constitutional issue putting the issue of abortion back in the states hands for their own legislative and judicial branches to rule and interpret.

There were (at least 10) states that passed laws waiting for RvW to be overturned- in those states some late term abortions are now illegal
You're conflating federal and state powers. RvW is a federal issue the usurped state powers. The federal government hasn't made abortion illegal.
