Someone asked me if I would get a Netflix subscription again due to their apparent turn around. I half jokingly told him that if the Conan adaptation they are planning is something where Conan looks strong and any female characters they have are well written and don't exist solely to show how much better they are than Conan I would consider it. Or, if they adapt something with a red head..... and have the actor/actress look like they do in the source material.
Cuties was the last straw for me with Netflix but even before that I noticed their obsession with race and lgbt stuff. I remember watching Stranger Things season 3 and it was very obvious it was turning into the girl power show and the icing on the cake was the "I know it has been set up for us to be romantically involved but I'm a lesbian" moment. Followed by the thunderous applause of shill media.
I legit didn't know she was a lesbian until reading fanfic because she was so fucking annoying I skip-watched most of the scenes she was in. Her being a total cunt to Steve from the start just burned my ass. I'm tired of women and girls getting a pass in movies, books, tv shows, etc. for being a bitch to everyone and then it turn out "well, I'm just socially awkward, like, whatever."
Yes, or I hear now that the trend for female villains is to have them be justified in their evil. But yea the socially awkward stuff is nauseating. As a kid I would watch G.I. Joe every afternoon and thankfully I didn't have to hear how the Baroness was simply misunderstood.
