Queer Theory is about destroying the idea of normal. Being "normal" is a form of privilege that oppresses those who are "queer," so "normal" must be dismantled.
The vast majority of people feel comfortable with their actual biological gender, and they are attracted to the opposite sex. This is the definition of the norm.
But that's oppressive to the abnormal people, so Queer Theorists came up with the term "cisheteronormative" to try to portray the normal condition as not just one of a spectrum of gender/sexual identities, but the worst one. The oppressive one.
Cisheteronormativity is to Queer Theory what "whiteness" is to Critical Race Theory.
