Yes, being able to separate your home and personal lives is awful. Having your staff being able to communicate and work in a structured environment to facilitate production is just useless. People work better when they have no incentive or punishment to keep them in line.
Set expectations on when you'll return communications, get your shit done, and attend your meetings. Do this, and none of what you posted is an issue. A company that tracks how much time you sit at your laptop is not doing it right.
