I’m not going to address the entire article. Just the point that Galadriel was made into some warrior maiden since the writers think that the only power one can have is strength.
Tolkien’s work had many (Elven) women in it. They were quite powerful but not from twitter physical strength. Their powers came from illusion and protection magic, as well as healing. Melian, a Maia turned elven queen protected an entire kingdom for hundreds of years. This protection Morgoth could not penetrate with his armies. Luthien was able to weave illusions to walk right up to the heart of Angband. She could charm and subdue the fell creatures and even Sauron himself (maybe even Morgoth I can’t recall).
Many of the Elven queens and maids were exceptionally beautiful. Believe it or not that is quite powerful.
Many could also foresee the future or read intent in the minds of others. These are all amazing powers which could have profound realization in a proper adaptation.
But no. It looks like she elf just gets to club orcs like any other man. It’s just poor writing and a cop out.
Nowadays that's called bodyshaming. It's quite sad we stopped trying to be our best selves and just chose to forbid others to point out how not our best selves we are.
She sang a song of such beauty that even Morgoth fell asleep. That's how they got the Silmarilion off his crown.
