The article is along the lines of "It subverts expectations and moved the focus to a girl instead of a boy so it is good. Includes things like the focus Leia deserves" It does not mention why subverting expectations is good or why does Leia deserve to be the focus of the series.
Yes, but why? There is no argument outside feminism making things about women.
Preaching to the choir, but representation and inclusion are lies. With existing works/companies there's only so many seats at the table. Representing or including some new group means you are representing or including other groups less. But the words make it sound like they are making the pie bigger and giving everyone a piece.
Now obviously they could make new franchises and start new companies that represent and include the groups they want, but they'd rather subvert your favorite stories because they hate you.
