If any of you have been able to stomach watching any mainstream/lefty "comedy" the last several years, you'll notice that the punchlines are no longer meant to elicit laughter, they're meant to elicit applause. Comedy for them is no longer about humor. This is most obvious in late night shows. It's just another medium coopted by globalists to push their narratives and brainwashing. Applause is simply a way for the woke audience to virtue signal, and affirm their adherence to the message, and to brainwash the viewer on what the authorities (comedians) and majority (audience) think. "Yes, comedian and audience think A, I also think A, I'm a good person and right because everyone else thinks that way." It's just another form of mind control, using well known globalist logical fallacies, like appeals to authority and appeals to popularity. Inherent to this brainwashing is the threat: "repeat and believe the message, or you'll be cast out and become our enemy."
This reminds me of how in Hamilton Miranda added a pause to Yorktown after the line "Immigrants we get the job done" for the audience to clap and this is presented without shame as a good thing (not to mention neither Hamilton or Lafayette were actually immigrants; Hamilton was an internal migrant and Lafayette wasn't any type of migrant at all).
100%. If you can suffer through a "Real Time" episode, you see this all the time. Maher pandering for applause breaks totally fucks up the coherence of the routine.
Despite his rational response to the Troon epidemic, he's still a class A douchebag.
