I'd highly recommend "Why Meadow Died" as a book to read to explain how and why this garbage keeps happening.

The book covers the parkland shooting, and how the system enabled that shitbag to commit mass murder because literally nobody stopped him. The leftist policies actively discourage criminals from getting punished.
