I don't think that word means what you think it means.
There's nothing illogical about saying free-speech should mean "we should be able to say whatever we want to whomever we want". I really wish someone could teach them the difference between words and meaning/action- you prosecute based on the intent or result of words, not the act of speech itself.
100%. Beware of the seemingly complimentary phrase "free speech absolutist" since it assumes speech has limits. For a functioning society and for freedom of thought it does not, short of a direct exhortation to violence, not implied, but explicit, something like "Go get your daddy's shotgun and kill the nearest [insert political enemy here]." Even that assumes the audience is so incapable of reflection that they follow the first order that strikes them as good or useful, like a Malaysian latah.
Any restriction on speech is anti-liberty and deeply irrational. In fact speech codes are deliberately designed to prohibit certain kinds of thought and propagate others. I'm sure you all know which sorts of thoughts are on the intelligentsia's shit list. That's why so many college-trained assholes and pseudo intellectuals love the idea along with totalitarian politicians.
