It's as bad as what Amazon is doing with Tolkien's work.

Episode 8 also uses the Master Chief/Makee romance to set the stage for the show's version of the Fall of Reach....

Though torn between her newfound love for John-117 and her loyalty to the Covenant, Makee ultimately chooses the latter and signals Reach's location to the Covenant. Because he made the mistake of trusting Makee, Master Chief is about to have a lot of blood on his hands.

Chief bangs an enemy spy (who doesn't exist in the real story), and the spy betrays the location of an important planet, therefore Chief is responsible for the destruction of that planet.

What was the importance of Reach? ... "Reach was one of, if not the most important headquarters for the United Nations Space Command as well as the main supplier of military and civilian spacecraft, and the location of the UNSC's largest and most active shipyard."

He'd be (figuratively) fucked. "Death by firing squad" fucked.

God, the MASSTER CHEEKS sex scene gets worse and worse by the minute.

In the actual canon, the reason why the Covenant wanted Reach was because an artefact pointed them there and that Reach had another artefact that pointed to Installation 04. Here? Sex. If this doesn't prove that the writers never bothered, nothing else will.
