Any Muslim knows that a Muslim who takes their entire holy text as unalterable truth WOULD be considered a villain by the west. There could definitely be arguments made within their sect whether or not that's a bad thing, but there isn't an argument that they'd look like heroes. Of course, while much, MUCH more common than a Christian who takes their entire holy text as unalterable truth, there's still large segments of the Muslim population that don't... But given the choices offered, of that group I could see many of them saying they would want accurate and fair representation over mocking and blasphemeous false representation, even if it relegated their representation to a "villain" role.
Because even just the mildly religious aren't huge fans of blasphemy.
