I am not an expert, but it's hard to think of psychology as anything more than a pseudoscience. Or maybe an approximation. Kind of like astrology used to be to what astronomy is today. People had no idea what stars were, or even really planets, but they could predict where they'd be.
They do their best to characterize the behavior an organ they don't really understand the functioning of. But there's no certainty and no bright lines. Today something might be a disorder; tomorrow it's a personality trait.
