Everything eventually fails, yes. While that statement is true, it's not entirely useful.
There are more people alive today than died throughout the entirety of human history. Though we have a good reason to believe everyone will die, something may happen yet that makes immortality possible.
Likewise with empires.
False. The condition known as "life" has an approximately 92%-93% death rate. Only 7-8% of people ever alive since we first evolved into humans are currently alive.
It is still as astronomical number, and a surprisingly high one, but it's nowhere near 51%.
