What's... The most violent city (these days), for the uninitiated here?? And how do they measure such things, for that matter, lol??

I'm gonna assume a) Detroit, b) Baltimore, c) Portland or d) DC..??

The measure would be violent crime rate. The FBI calculates this as follows:

Violent crime rate = (Murders + Nonnegligent manslaughters + Rapes + Robberies + Aggravated assaults)/(Population/100000)

You can find a list of cities by violent crime rate here.

The top five, from most to least violent are St. Louis, Detroit, Baltimore, Memphis, and Kansas City. Portland is #62, Washington DC is #24, and Chicago is #17.
