So that whole "well I'm fine because I moved out to the country where all my neighbors drive lifted jeeps and fly Trump flags" doesn't mean a damn thing in the end.
It's not an endgame strategy, but it's hardly useless. Consider it a tactical retreat. It's better to be surrounded by like-minded individuals, who are less likely to rat you out to the authorities for some minor infraction or wrongthink opinion. It is wise to fortify yourself with those who share your values.
I agree that it's naïve to say, "I'll just move to the country and will be safe from all of this Bolshevik crap." But, it's also naïve to say, "I can just stay in this area filled with my enemies, who are becoming increasingly radicalized, because it was previously safe to do so."
