RTD's run was plenty woke. Consider the first companions there have been since it restarted.
Rose, a white woman - who was in a relationship with Micky, a black man.
Martha, a black woman - who was in a relationship with Tom, a white man - literally played by Tom Ellis aka Lucifer from the titular show for irony. Martha later ends up marrying Micky whose actor was eventually outed as abusing various BBC staff.
Donna, a white woman - who was originally introduced in one of the Xmas specials marrying... you guessed it, a black man who ended up dying because reasons. Eventually after having her memory wiped she returned to normal life in London, which of course meant marrying another black guy 😶
Surprisingly Amy and Rory were both white. Amy was even a redhead played by a Scot. They did have a shapeshifting baby who ended up being their black best friend at one point however, obviously!
Clara, another white woman, was seeing a former soldier now PE teacher who surprise, surprise was a black man. He gets hit by a car after stupidly stepping off the curb without looking. Womp womp.
I stopped watching things pretty much on the Xmas special that finished River Song's arc so never had the [dis]pleasure of Bill Pots, the black lesbian who would regularly remind people she was a black lesbian because she was in fact a black lesbian. Oh and of course had "racism bad" moments in some episodes in the past. Eventually after almost dying [unfortunately she survived because her lesbian crush turns her into a puddle], she goes off to explore space with her white lesbian puddle crush.

Regardless, pretty much every companion/couple in the show has been an interracial relationship with the majority of examples being the now seen everywhere; black man/white woman. The two main exceptions being:
An alternate timeline that never counted.
A lesbian couple which would mean the highest likelihood of domestic abuse. So again, womp womp.
Yeah, but Rose also hated micky because he was retarded and fucked stuff up all the time, and wanted The Doctor instead.
Donna was a dumb whore who had one or two decent moments of being worthwhile, I barely remember Martha because I didn't care about her.
I also stopped before Clara, because while I like Capaldi as The Doctor (I think he's great in the role, just needed non woke writers), I was tired of the woke garbage.
I'm glad I stopped before the "THE DOCTOR WAS REALLY A BLACK WOMAN ALIEN THE WHOLE TIME" bs that ruined the entirety of canon.
