You can be serious about something without being all mopey and somber. Stop being absolutist and thinking that just because it isn't everything you ever wanted the outcome isn't promising.
There will be no such thing as a "victory". Instead we are in a tug of war and making a continuous series of small moves. If the move is in the right direction we celebrate, if it is in the wrong direction we buckle down, figure out what went wrong, and adjust our tactics.
An entertainment product that is a big fuck you to the neomarxists is a good thing.
People playing a game on steam is not an accomplishment.
It's nice that it got released and its doing well, but that's all.
This thread is characterizing good sales as some kind of cultural turning point, which it is most certainly not. This game's release and sales are not even part of that "tug and pull." It is a completely irrelevant object.
Wasting people's time playing video games that preach to the choir isn't winning even in your own definition. You're like those Ukraine Redditors who got platinum trophies in Elden ring and posted about it for Karma while their country was being invaded. You're wasting time on irrelevant things for 'fun' while the real world breathes down your neck.
Ok doomer, I know you are talking out of your ass. If you really believed "every minute is precious" you wouldnt ever be posting here and instead doing terrain studies of your local area.
Ok. So why are you here preaching to the choir instead of going out and doing something? You're wasting time on irrelevant things while the real world goes to hell.
There is no culture war. There are people with power making decisions and manipulating others and there are those being manipulated. It doesn't matter how many games you play or put on Steam, it doesn't matter if you buy a next gen console or not. What matters is your immediate community and relationships to those closest to you. Games as a form of relaxation aren't a bad thing, games as a life style and crusade is super unhealthy. You would do more for the "culture war" holding a bake sale and meeting your neighbors than you ever will playing games. You don't have the media reach or power to manipulate people on the scale you would need to fight an actual culture war. You have the power to form a small circle jerk and convince yourself you're doing something when you're not. All the people KiA originally spoke about are still active, still have more influence and in some cases killing people. I don't think any of them, let alone any real people with influence give a flying fuck if you make a steam game because you're no threat to anything but your own wrists if this is how you fight what you consider a war.
This literally doesn't matter though.
Who cares about how many hours you waste in an online single player game?
You're not "winning the cultural war."
You're running away from it.
because making a successful entertainment product is somehow losing.
I didn't say that this is losing, I said it's irrelevant.
What’s the opposite of winning?
Where in my post did I say anything like?
Do you have the reading comprehension skills of a nigger?
Yes, it is. If your goal is defeating the demofags.
Not really. You can do more than one thing at a time.
Who pissed in your cornflakes?

I'm being realistic, not mopey.

You’re being a faggot.

Like why do people come to a gaming forum if they’re going to bitch and moan about people making and playing games?
Fuck off.

Why is your post upvoted saying basically the exact same thing that I did?
People are being faggots this weekend it seems.
No bigger faggot than a karma whore.
I don't care at all about the karma.
I simply find it rather curious that I'm downvoted and you're upvoted in the same comment chain for saying basically the same thing.
yes there is. #rekt
