I’ve noticed this phenomenon among some anime fans (particularly fujoshi aka yaoi fans) who see a character blushing as inherently indicating attraction, when it could just as easily mean embarrassment or happiness. Especially given how animation tends to exaggerate certain features to indicate emotions.
They did this shit with The Legend of Korra. When the surprise lesbians ending dropped, the cows pointed to one scene where Korra blushes at a compliment as proof of long-running sexual tension between the characters. These people are coomers to the core.
