I hate activist investors….. but has any group right of Mao ever considered pulling together and start replacing board members on these companies?

Doing that requires taking a gamble that you'll be able to buy up enough stock to replace the board members before they destroy the company with their bullshit and send you to the poorhouse. I imagine the more intelligent investors have invested in companies that aren't being run into the ground.
