These are things that warrant caution, and typically more caution than your average young man has(hence why your parents used to pick your wife for you, because society realizes that you're too horny to be picky). But they most certainly aren't worth giving up as you have said.
But to not have kids feels selfish. Perhaps even narcissistic to a point.
Or cowardly. Many of these people seem to simply be finding excuses for a fear of rejection.
I've been dumped and/or shot down at least fifty times that I can remember since I turned 20.
But to me that doesn't matter because since then I've found myself a beautiful, sweet, smart, attentive woman who is a trained chef. She wants to be a stay at home mom and homeschool the children, and within a month of knowing her I heard her say "gas the trannies". I couldn't have designed a better woman.
The whole "plenty of fish in the sea" trope doesn't seem helpful when it's most commonly said, right after a breakup, but the fact of the matter is that it's true. Know your own value and adjust your standards accordingly, or else adjust yourself to improve your value.
