Some people have the mistaken idea that Gaslighting is the same idea. No. Gaslighting is an explicit form of abuse where someone is intentionally trying to make you feel crazy by trying to make you believe a lie that is entirely contradictory to reality. The purpose is not to make you believe something, it's actually to hurt you with a maximum amount of cognitive dissonance so that you believe them and question your own sanity.

This actual fucking Gaslighting. They know this all comes from their framing of reality and are pushing this to make everyone fucking insane.

A good understanding of Gaslighting is it's effect on it's victims. When Gaslighting is effective it can make people suicidal. When Gaslighting is ineffective it makes the victim laugh out loud in the absurdity of the comment.
