I thought they readily acknowledged that the planet cannot support everyone living their way of life? I mean, not just the planet. Not everyone can live in an urban core and work in an office because someone has to grow the food.

You're right; these aren't genuine invitations; they're just trying to shift blame for the problems the likes of them created onto real humans.
