I think it's a good thing that the last SW I had watched was Episode III; this was my first teaser of the Disney era, and what can I say: I will not watch this one, just as I did not watched the others.
(For me, the Star Wars franchise is Star Wars from 1977, and I don't care about the other films or television series.)
Not necessarily. It may have more ozone. Human settlements may actually be fairly far from the equator. Technology may make dark skin less of a survival advantage; by the time it was settled humans were already spacefaring of course so probably also had sunscreen and could heal sunburns.
the inhabitants of tattooine also tend to wear very long, and middle east types of clothing... so even if they were nearer the equator, they would tend to have less sun exposure even outside of the cities. altho the sandpeople could be black, we dont know their true color, relly. afaik. they can definintely heal sun burns, but idk if they would do it on a level to prevent darker skinned people's evolving. and traveling peoples like the sandpeople likely would not have cutting edge medical technology to do so.
Sand people are a mix of different groups in the EU which included several Jedi like Sharad Hett and his son A'Sharad Hett.
A'Sharad Hett is of particular note as he lived to be 184 ish being born early enough [47 years before ANH] to be a Jedi Master before the Republic fell yet live long enough [137 years after ANH] to eventually become Darth Krayt and face Luke Skywalker's descendent, Cade.
Ofc the EU was thrown into a dumpster by Disney then set on fire and presented in various ways as the new canon despite so much of it being extremely poorly reworked existing material like Han and Leia's son falling to the Dark side as Jacen did, or an Imperial Remnant, or Palpatine clones, etc. Supposedly before the rewrite the Kenobi series would have had A'Sharad Hett as the antagonist so again playing the nostalgia card as the trailer does given the music choices, the ventilator sounds at the end, and everything else, so again Disney are still just ripping off ideas that have been around in Star Wars for decades.
This will turn out like the Boba Fett series where the titular character is sidelined for agency pushes and the main actor will bow and grovel during interviews because any hint of going off script will bring threats of social ostracisation given Euan cheated on his wife.
thx for the eu lesson. did asharrad live because of his force attenuation, or was he some kind of hybrid race? or do tuskens generally have extended lives for tattoonians? i didnt follow all the eu materials, but I wish we had better incorporations of some of their ideas. finn wasnt the first defected imperial to come alliance, either. i deff missed the vent sounds, as well. another poster elsewhere claimed the shadowed blaster was the storied dl-44, but i guess we'll have to wait and see for that one. Euan cheated on his wife? was he a new character added for the boobie fret series? helmet off fett shows how poorly equipped these retards are to work on ANYTHING star wars. PUBLIC RANCOR PIT I SAY
