China's at the time most expensive, and most profitable (around 1 billion dollars), movie of all time: "The Zerg Rush into Korea" (2021). Last month they released the sequel, "The Zerg Rush into Korea 2", making it a new and behemoth cinematic universe that you probably never even heard about (youtube.com)

Ever see The Gods Must Be Crazy? And its sequel, with the kids? Good movies. Very charming, adventure, lots of fun to watch. Was as pleasantly surprised by the first one as I was by The Princess Bride.

I was quite happy to find out there was a third one. That happiness kind of dissipated when I read into it a bit more.

The Chinese made it.

It features a hopping Chinese vampire. Who isn't the antagonist. It's friendly. I stopped right there.

I see the Chinese also made a sequel to Skyline, which I enjoyed on the level of "this is just like the Americans on the trains with the bison, only the humans are the bison, cool!" I don't have very high hopes for the sequel.

Skyline is a pretty cool little silly movie. A survival horror featuring the UFOs over LA.

Battle: Los Angeles was advertised as something like that but a serious war movie starring a squad of stranded soldiers, and even in the same city, but it's just so fucking awful. Unwatchable.
