A sovereign European country invading another sovereign European country in the 21st century, and you think it's "mass hysteria"? Especially after they've annexed a part of that country already.
I'm kind of the opposite, I don't care if anyone supports Ukraine or not (although anyone supporting Putin with no reservations is a piece of shit), but this is one of the biggest political events that has happened in the world in the last few decades.

The US Tech industry and the CIA coordinating to overthrow the governments of a dozen presumably sovereign states, Brexit, the American Electoral Revolution, the annexation of Hong Kong... plenty of things have happened. This is just recency bias.

Well yeah. Sovereign countries have invaded other sovereign countries, and if anything, the media was basking in the glory of the war (and sometimes even lying people into the war to begin with).
The reaction is absolutely insane. Some people are calling for no fly zones above Ukraine.

I'd say the same about someone supporting any politician with no reservations.

What if a week from now, there's a peace agreement with a promise that Ukraine will never join NATO and recognition of Crimea, and business as usual? I guess it could be remembered as a time the Western countries got their nose bloodied.
