The adoption of teaching materials by US public schools is not a first amendment issue, not a speech issue at all. That the left is now trying to frame the rejection of Critical Racism Theory as suppression of free speech is one of the most offensive, bitterest hypocrisies reasonable people have ever endured.
Parents have every right to reject what their spawn are subjected to in US public school prisons, and have since their inception. The PTA was created to give parents MORE input into public school teaching; at least in theory, parents are PARTNERS with schools in the education of their children. Up to recently parental involvement has usually been about book assignments or library holdings or sex ed content, with conservative parents doing the agitation and being ridiculed by liberals for being narrow-minded and prudish or, of course, "racist" and pervert-phobic.
Critical social justice has crept into the teaching of EVERYTHING, so much so that it will be impossible to reform US public schools. The only solution is for concerned parents to remove their children from PS clutches and send them to Catholic schools or other conservative private schools that reject the simpering commie indoctrination of Paolo Friere and the whole raft of neo-Marxist, racist, critical social justice mind poison.
