Well, she was right, unintentionally. Half of the world saying you can't go into stores without producing papers (ostensibly) due to a minor cold (cause that's what omicron is) is unrecognizable. And shelves in Canada are getting pretty bare, because of the trucker strike.
Of course, the virus is utterly irrelevant in the above happening. If the governments just rolled everything back, things would become entirely recognizable almost overnight. But that would mean they need to 1) acknowledge they were wrong, 2) admit that the media has been lying to them for years, and 3) give up the power they get from this. So, it's never going to happen without them being forced out of power.

Yep, where I live - a small town that's too obscure for any petty tyrants to bother making into their own personal despotism - I wouldn't even know there's a pandemic if I wasn't told so on a daily basis. Nobody wears masks, everything is open, and despite this nobody is dying except the very old or very sick, which is business as usual as far as I'm concerned.
Sometimes it feels like my little town exists in an alternate universe and when I have to go anywhere near the city I'm actually moving down the fifth dimension into Piss Earth. And I have to say, I don't like Piss Earth very much.
