So I did my own research. Turns out that the British Navy in the Carribean in the year 1815 had many black sailors but the Admiralty officially limited their numbers to no more than 4% of a crew (fear of mutiny).
Number of coons in Britian in 1800? A trivial number. Not countable. Elizabeth 1 kicked out all of the coons in the 1590s.
This is why I suggest that anyone interested in history look for books pre-2012 and preferable pre-2000. History as it is being written now is through the lens of political correctness.
