That's not the only other option, though. You just convinced yourself it is as a cope. Millions of families live a content traditional existence but you can't because it's just impossible for you only? You're making generalized excuses for your personal failures. The first step is acknowledging that unless you're too far gone.
are you fucking retarded? divorce rate is consistently 50-60% and the marriage rate is in freefall. that is the rule. you have to be a special kind of stupid to think you're the exception to the rule.
divorce is a one-sided option on roughly 60% of my current and future finances through no fault of my own. if she wakes up bored one day, that's it. it's over. all that wealth, all those years, gone. and by the way, she'll get the kids and the house in it. everything lost. marriage is simply not what it was 70 years ago.
get your head out of the disney movies. never make a deal with someone who is incentivized to break the deal.
