Are there other healthy and accessible egg options besides chicken eggs?
? All eggs are edible.
However, wild eggs have a high chance of being fertlilized, which is unappetizing to most modern people. Laying hens do not need roosters to produce eggs, and you do NOT want them around. Unless you LIKE bloody eggs, that is.
Oh, and if they sold turkey or goose eggs commercially, I'd probably buy those as a better way to get large eggs.
I know, meant in terms of nutritional value compared to regular chicken eggs. And also where to acquire them.
I don't think I'll be stealing eggs from birds in the woods any time soon.
I've seen duck, goose, turkey, and ostrich sold commercially. Check flea and farmers markets.
Sadly there's none nearby.
OSTRICH eggs? Huh, never thought of that. I assume they would have emu eggs too, since those were all the rage awhile ago as a new sort of livestock.
