As I understand it the actual NFT is basically the sale receipt. Doesn't even matter what the receipt is for, the item bought, but the NFT is that thing that say you, you dumb schmuck, handed some asshole a house worth of money for a receipt.
I suppose it shouldn't surprise me by now, but I am actually surprised that NFT turns out to be an even worse idea I had assessed it as when considering it to be some dot-com hype junk.
It's a sale receipt sold from the back of a truck. Unless the artist is directly linking to the NFT and telling you they created it, you should consider it stolen.
