The one problem I have with this article is that it makes it seem like merely an effort by Democrats to cement their control over tech. That's true but it's not the full picture.
These tech companies are by and large woke as hell already. Regulation like this is a potential way to stifle competition because the cost of the lawyers, "equity auditors" and paying a "$20,000 a day" fine for any oversights is pocket change for Google but big bucks for a startup or smaller company.
It should come as no surprise that Google supported the GDPR even though they've since been fined millions multiple times for violating it. They'll probably embrace this too and even have a hand in writing it.
That is a good point that I mirror. Giant companies are all in favor of diversity and crap, for one they are to big to fail and they can easily claim diversity when you have a large part of the company in India.
I would not be surprised if the company I work for is more then half Indians.
Small companies can't afford diversity hires, this was a problem with startups from leftists.
I mean that affirmative action hires tend to be very lazy and underperformed. I speak from experience here.
Small companies can't afford to have screwups from the start.
Recently this happened to a company in my city. They started hiring lots of women. They ended up cutting 70% of their employees a year later just to stay afloat.
I happen to know a girl that works there, the other girls were so used to having guys do their work or at least help them out that they just could not do the work. They were also complaining that people were mean and this never happens in larger companies :))

It’s not just affording the hires, it is affording compliance with the regulations. Leftists use regulation as a means of stifling competition.
