That is exactly the problem. They must believe that you will retaliate. Too many men have some stupid idea of 'never hit a woman', even if she hits you.

I had no idea of any such 'lawfare' at the time. But since I am Middle Eastern, if I say that I will beat a woman, she'll believe me.
