What we have now does not bear any relationship to what is normally called free markets. In reality, what we have is much closer to fascism, with big corporations and government team up to control the rest of us, and ALL of it is only possible because government has enough power to warrant the collaboration in the first place.
To put it another way, corporations wouldn't lobby if there were not something in it for them. A government with no power to affect a corporation's bottom line is a government not worth the expense of lobbying.
