TikTok, Twitter, and Reddit were built on bots. Assuming Gab is doing something shady to boost engagement, so? The right needs to stop tying their own hands when they are fighting a war that can only end with the total annihilation of one side.
They could be using bots to hide posts they don't like and push up content that they want to promote. Like you said all of the networks do it.
It could also be a third-party infiltrating their network to do the opposite and make them look bad. If it wasn't Gab I'd say it's corporations doing their typical fake trend generation, but it's probably NGOs or agencies.
