Thanks to wokeism increasing in gaming, I haven't really been interested in any new video games coming out.
The only games I have really played this year are mostly older Japanese games: such as the Yakuza games, Dragonball FighterZ and Naruto Shinobi Strikers.
The only western games I enjoyed recently are Hades and Slay the Spire.
Anyone buy anything fun during this Steam sale or have any good recommendations for games?
If you want gameplay that's not politically correct, the Postal series does that. Postal 4 is still in development, and is set in the modern clown world. The previous games are from a time period when things were saner. It's old school South Park style humor.
Mad Max is good. An open world game, but they did a good job with the progression system, and it's just fun.
Rimworld is a great time sink. Like an easier to learn Dwarf Fortress. You can wait to buy the expansion packs later, when you need more content (and complexity). You're limited to mods that support the current version (1.3+), but there are still a lot of mods you can use. There's mods for usability, races, weapons, items, other content and gameplay tweaks. You can also make it as casual or hardcore as you want.
Cryptark is a roguelike where you conquer space stations. You plan out your equipment and path including the order you take out the wreck's systems, and then go do it.
Rain World is a physics-based platformer, where you play a ferret-like thing in a large map. You need to find food, shelter, and evade roaming predators. There are "rooms," but enemies are wandering and searching for you in real time even when they're not in your current "room." You can kill them, or bait them to attack each other, but it's risky.
The Disgaea series is a good TRPG series.
Hakoniwa Explorer Plus is an isometric ecchi indie action game. It's unique, but pretty fun.
