I saw one thread devoted to it. Most posts by far were in support of the verdict. Only a handful of posts were commenting that he still should have never been there, or otherwise criticizing the US for being so "weird" or backwards as usual.
My favorite comment was something like "Who is Kyle and what did he do? I don't know anything about this story." because it got over two dozen upvotes. Think about that: People get social media points for admitting to being uninformed.

The mods WERE deleting posts the moment they cropped up but I guess they couldn't ignore it anymore.
