They'll say "good riddance", then within a couple months say you need to open up your new parallel system to them or you're being some -ist. Fearing this most horrific of acts, people will let them into the new system. At which point they will take over core control parts of it, solidify that control and expand it, then drive you out of it.

At which point you'll go "I guess we need to make a parallel system".
