I wouldn't be at all shocked if there were some that did just that. The thing is the loudest screamers seem to be a tiny minority. At least in my area I put the majority in the middle. They pay attention to the fear porn a bit and are wary of it all, but also were starting to realize they didn't want the new normal to go on forever. I credit the school mask ban to help force them over the threshold out of the left's walled garden and back to the real world. There was a notable drop in "Covid give a shit" about a month after school started.
