we see Microsoft employees apologize to 20 Indigenous tribes for being in Seattle.
Please correct me if I am wrong - This is why I feel every American should be disgusted:
-
The purpose of a sincere apology is promise future reparations of some kind
-
Microsoft themselves has NO intention of paying these reparations (despite being in a perfect position to give back any land they feel guilty about)
-
The expectation is that YOU will have to repay BIPOC to assuage Microsoft's guilt....
-
If I wanted to be held responsible for historic crimes of my people I would go and live in North Korea - I hear they love that shit.
any institution that isn't explicitly based will eventually become cucked.
The virtue signaling is an "emperor has no clothes" loyalty test. The goal, like all lefty public declarations, isn't to convey information.
The primary goal is to signal the speaker's loyalty to the revolution. The second is to attack the ideological enemies of the revolution. Then make notes about who is actively supportive, who is grudgingly not dissenting, and who is grumbling or even speaking out against it (to add to an enemies list).
And the third is to re-normalize the revolutionary position. It is part of the very real slippery slope that the left always denies but is always true. Once it is culturally accepted that the land is "stolen" then the next phase is "redress" which requires government power to seize and redistribute the land. Because, after all, who can be against returning stolen property to its rightful owners?
Yeah, to your last paragraph, Zim, South Africa, Paraguay, Bolivia, Jamaica, HAITI, PNG, East Timor, the Indian subcontinent, Tibet and China (in particular Shanghai, Beijing, Macau and Hong Kong), amongst others, say hi… 😕
Also Japan with what they did to Christians in the past (inc. literal crucifixion 👌🏻).
Also NZ, with its Māori roadblocks and shadow parliament (there’s a whole separate Māori electorate system. No, I’m not making that up)…
This never ends well, in the long run. Never.
