Their way worse in their own way, they get an entire parallel culture with better services and a mostly English speaking country catering to their standards everywhere else with bilingualism in gov and on packages - and still bitch and threaten separation. France mostly got away Scot free when they went out for a pack of cigarettes and never came back.
The Quebecois have some anger issues. They're not quite on the level of Irish Republicans, but they're getting there.
OP, Quebec has a lot of the same problems of the American rust belt, with declining industrial towns. Forestry and mining has been in a long downturn and the best kids leave for better jobs in Ontario. Throw in the fact that they speak a different language and the result is a really cantankerous province that feels abandoned and disrespected by Ottawa.
And they're not too fond of Americans either. South of the St Lawrence you won't see much hostility, but once you get north of the A-40 you'd better know how to pronounce "Oui."
They very narrowly voted against leaving the country, and have been given a large amount of benefits not available to (but from the money of) english Canada as a result. It's also interesting that this guy attacks English-language schools in Quebec, since english Canada has french-immersion schools, without the additional federally funded childcare.
He also mentions Quebec's crazy people, but doesn't mention they often travel to border towns outside Quebec. English Canada doesn't have any laws forcing stores to use English, while Quebec forced stores to have French 3 times larger than any other language, and now are trying to remove other languages completely.
The cherry on top is that he keeps calling the english-speakers colonialists. What do you think the French were doing at the time. The only difference is that when they got into conflict with the other colonists, the French lost, but act as if they won. Also him talking about how you only need to hate one minority to be a bigot, after just calling english-speakers a minority.
So French speakers are Canada's equivalent of America's blacks?

Basically yeah.

Yes, I remember the 1995 Referendum.
