I hate to say it, though, but Carter at least seems to genuinely still be interested in being “statesman-like”, and working hard for the pet causes he believes in, long post-presidency (40 years!!) whether I necessarily agree with them or not…
Obama, meanwhile, just comes across as a nouveau-riche arsehole who almost literally backstabs the people who got him there, parties waaaay too hard, and generally treats people like shit, while trying desperately hard to remain “cool, hip and relevant”. Same with Michelle. Same with the younger daughter…
That’s clearly a generational difference, but it’s weeeiiirrrddd, man. Obama’s celebrity palling, and Martha’s Vineyard partying, is weird. No one has really done this, to quite the same extent (apart from Trump, arguably), since, like, Ted Kennedy, and as a dirty “global poor”, but with friends in the US of course, I have to say that it really rubs me the wrong way, how he behaves these days, and the sick personality cult he has going, while he literally throws money away… 😡
Man, I actually… Like the peanut-ter more after watching that! 😳
Which, I suppose, was the intention…
Nice to have a down-to-earth, simple, working class guy in charge, for once!
Australia’s equivalent is probably Paul Keating, though with far less humility, and far more arrogance and bluster (on Keating’s part). I’ve met him. He’s still a dick, 25 years later, lol…
Both made awful mistakes. Both also did some good stuff. Particularly after leaving office…

Both still alive, too, amazingly!
