Website is clickbait-filled cancer. I recommend sticking to the archive, for this particular one... And it's also aimed at "lay people", rather than fans, per se, lol...
So, I'm admittedly not entirely sure on the "veracity" of all this, but... That makes "Flux"/Season 13 the second-lowest average viewing figure in the history of Doctor Who, since 1963... The only lower average is the very last season before it was originally cancelled, in 1989... And that is DESPITE streaming, global broadcasting rights/syndication, and the fact that the show is pumping out more hours of content per "series/season" than it was right at the very end, in the 80s... And it is also, of course, in spite of the media running a coordinated campaign to tell us how "woke and wonderful" the new series is, and how, if you don't like it, you're just a sexist, racist, anachronistic BIGOT...
Fuck me, the show is dead. Dead, dead, dead. Forget Russ-T. Let's kill the thing off already, once and for all. At least for say, seven years again...
My dad has has been a fan of Dr. Who ever since the first episodes in 1963.
He owns DVD box sets and useless plastic merch. When the 2005 revival came along, he was overjoyed. He watched every episode when it aired, season after season.
...And he lasted about half a season with the female doctor before he completely lost interest in it.
He doesn't pay attention to politics, he doesn't watch the news. He doesn't know what 'woke' or 'SJW' is. He stopped watching becuase it simply stopped entertaining him.
It's incredibly sad to a decrepit, dying old man have one his few remaining pleasures taken away by these ghouls.
Also, as I pointed out in the other comment, turns out things are even worse than that.
These are literally the lowest ratings for Doctor Who EVER. New OR old Who. Which is quite incredible, really...
The article itself only really talks about "Series Premiere" ratings, but if you look at the "fan site" chart that I linked to below... It's actually so much worse, if we're going on "Series Average" (so far) as the metric...
More then 4 millions views seems fine. I am surprised about that. I would have expected it to be much lower, I know of no one watching the series anymore, including my wife, she used to be a huge Doctor Who fan.
I fully expected it to be in the 1-2 millions range, similar to Batwoman.
I am a big fan of Doctor Who. That's why I dont watch the chibnall/whitaker era. As a fan, why would I want to subject myself to watching the franchise be vandalized? They can ruin it but they cant make me watch them do it.
I stopped watching after the day of the doctor. Smith had such potential and they wasted it. I still remember his first episode when he stepped through Ten's holographic head, and my wife said ya know he kinda looks like someone playing human dress up.
This might be even worse than at first glance for the BBC.
They had two major cash cows through international sales, Top Gear and Doctor Who. With the loss of both they will have nothing left but licence fees, which more and more people are open to scrapping.

Side note: I wasn't sure how this compared to ratings for "Old Who", so I decided to look it up, and here you go: https://guide.doctorwhonews.net/info.php

It's filled with timey-whimey, hokey-wokey stuff.

*ratings were. Oops.

Batwoman isn't even doing that. They're barely pulling in half a million viewers: https://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/batwoman-season-three-ratings/
