Literally the reason men are feared in WoT is because the male half of magic is cursed and the singular post powerful channeler ever to have lived was Lews Therin Telamon, the man who would become known as The Dragon, along with Ared Mosinel, [Rahvin], and Elan Morin Tedronai, [Ishamael]. However in the case of those two Rahvin was never shown to be ++1 despite being on equal rating as the other two and Ishamael exists as a mirror to the Dragon in the first place. The fact Rahvin is labelled as ++1 makes little sense as he never exhibits the kind of raw power that he should be capable of despite other male channelers who are weaker managing more impressive feats in their own right.
The Breaking of the World, which isn't a metaphor, happens because every male magic user goes literally insane. They are rightly feared because the literal Satan of the WoT universe, Shai'tan, counters their sealing attempt with the aforementioned curse which literally instantly drove Lews Therin and the other 100 Champions insane. Every other male channeler who didn't then faces an inevitable descent into madness as long as they continued to channel magic, meaning their two options to survive were to willingly stop channeling which was a near impossibility for any channeler, male or female, or alternatively go live in a Stedding; a null zone magic couldn't be used in which would offer a reprieve from the madness. Providing it wasn't obliterated during the Breaking which many were. Those who tried the former inevitably succumbed to channeling and still went mad, those who tried the latter also inevitably succumbed to the need to embrace magic and left the Stedding even though they knew it would kill them in the end.
It's the reason The Vileness happens at the hands of the Reds. That and they're stupid enough to be manipulated into it by the Blacks who want to kill any new male channelers because they know eventually the Dragon will be reborn. It ties in directly to Thom's back story several times over. Its why he leaves Morgase to go find his nephew who was stilled by the Reds then abandoned. It's why he hates Aes Sedai. It's the founding conflict for his entire relationship interacting with Moraine. It's why Logain and Mazrim Tain are even characters of not as they are both extremely powerful male channelers who both proclaimed themselves The Dragon Reborn, however both turned out to be False Dragons.
It's one of the singular most important defining aspects of the lore why every male channeler in the books is feared by literally every culture in the world. The Sharans, the Ocean folk, the Seanchan, every fucking country and kingdom on the main continent.
And these chucklefucks want to fuck that over for reasons of ignorance and downright stupidity that will mean the story no longer makes sense.
This is the current shit icing on the shit cake.
