The big difference between the two of us is that I don't live in a glass bubble pretending there's any reason to have faith in humanity. Everyone -- when given the right opportunity and motivation -- will do the wrong thing nearly 100% of the time.
We're seeing that happen in real life, every single day. Blinding yourself to reality doesn't change that reality. Trying to convince people that adopting your blindness is the right course of action does even less to change said reality.
It's not even a matter of saying who is right and who is wrong, because in the end society will fall, it's inevitable with its current trajectory; and whatever feigned hope you've put into course correction will never come to fruition.
The people are more evil, afraid, and hopeless than good, fearless, and resolute, and we're seeing that play out right now, in real-time, in real life. You just have to sit back and watch it all come collapsing down. No amount of misaligned coping will change that.
You mean these things didn't happen in real-life after people developed these toxic thoughts from places like Twitter/social media and academia?
