Love Chucky (and Brad Dourif) but holy shit I don't think I'll be able to watch any more of this complete garbage.
Every single woke stereotype you can think of is checked on this list.
And that's not to mention that the writing is god-awful, even without the woke crap. Chucky hanging out with middle schoolers - who thinks this shit up?
main character gay (no issue with this except they throw it in your face constantly: hey, remember he's gay? He likes guys, did we mention he likes the dick?
homophobic abusive father (this isn't the 90s)
evil white, blonde hair, blue eyed girl
"gender-fluid" although ironically it was used in probably the only accurate time ever (referring to Chucky's genderless son)
Heavy emphasis on gay kid being bullied (again, this isn't the 90s)
There were other instances as well but I stopped paying attention to the middle school drama after a while.
We're so oppressed, we only have full multinational corporations and biggest western armies in the world supporting us!! Boo hoo!
...and academia, and every major municipal outlet that isn't in a red state (and even then, sometimes in red states).
Not intending to derail the conversation, but if I remember correctly a study from earlier this year that showed the massive cultural shift in favor of LGBT+ individuals over the last decade or so actually did almost nothing to decrease their stress, feelings of distress or suicide rate, and in some cases actually made it worse.
Here's a link to the study: https://archive.ph/ggkXy
I'm sorry, but I never bought the whole argument that the host of behavioral problems exhibited by LGBT+ peoples is due to the stress of being unaccepted by society. There are too many negative behaviors and issues correlated to being LGBT+. This includes things like higher rates of violence (esp. in gay women), higher rate of childhood abuse, considerably higher suicide rate (esp. in trans peoples), much higher rate of contracting AIDs (primarily in gay men), higher likelihood to be victims of sexual assault as an adult, etc. There's very clearly something else going on here that is contributing to these issues but nobody is willing to research the topic for fear of being cancelled for asking questions.
Only two of these three can exist together now and 1. and 2. cannot be grouped together. Solve.
