Anyone read the original graphic novel? I heard it wasn’t so bad but the time we live in is the worst time to adapt it. I heard the same about Handmaids Tale book.
I read it years ago. It isn't terrible, but it isn't all that great either as a story. The ending in particular is rushed and non-sensical and you'll find a ton if typical liberal BS.
High level, turns out the virus was created by the planet itself due to over-population / pollution. All creatures with y-chromosomes die except for the protag and his pet monkey, but some mammals spontaneously start having babies anyway. Main character winds up never having kids b/c his love interest gets sniped out of nowhere in the last issue and he's just so sad for the rest of his life. That's ok, we cloned the couple of astronauts who were in space (so they survived the virus) along with a few women and have a thriving utopia now. The end.

Ok. Thanks. I think I’ll pass.
