He's 100% correct, too. There's nothing "new and bold" about this crap anymore. It's the same recycled bullshit we've seen pushed for years now. It's the usual narcissistic entitled activist crap that's become a pestiferous tumor eating away at the foundations of society.
Here's the absolute truth: when you're sponsored by every corporation and institution in western society, you are not — in any conceivable way — being "oppressed."
You are, however, the oppressor when you push your political agenda onto others and then seek to silence or ruin anyone who disagrees with it by using censorship and leveraging that same corporate/institutional power — which you know is supporting you — against them.
This change was made for activism purposes only. Period.
This should have been made abundantly clear when the creator appeared on CNN in his rainbow logo t-shirt while talking about how he didn't want another "striaght white savior."
If that doesn't tell the entire story, then what does?
The reality is that he wanted praise and recognition for how "in-touch with the times," and what an "ally" he is, from the activist nutjobs he associates with. This wasn't done for the people buying the comics; this was done to satiate his own ego — to sniff his own farts over how he's so "virtuous."
I mean, why write a good character when he can take the easy way to get quick guaranteed glowing reviews, right?
Yeah, he really took such a huge risk by taking the character in this direction. The only actual risk involved will be the financial one as the sales will undoubtedly plummet into shit after the novelty wears off and no one cares about another copy/paste character created as a self-insert/virtue signal.
Go ahead and tell me this asshole doesn't have the most smug and self-satisfied face in this video. Please, be my guest:
The people that call us fascists want to use media to brainwash you and want the government to create laws prohibiting actions/thinking that they don’t like.
It would be bold and brave if Supermam tried to fight something that you cannot just punch or eye beam - deep state globalist who have Big Tech and consolidated global media companies doing their dirty work.
Too late to save the big two, and even they could recover with fresh blood that is actually talented (with the films still bankrolling them). But this leaves room for indies to step in. It's a medium that anyone can make and publish now, thanks to kickstarter and the web. I don't think it's too late, but it probably will never be as big as it was due to demographics changes (old readers aging out/dying, not as many replacing, lower literacy rates, kids more into other media, etc.) and other forms of entertainment there to compete for people's money.
I think there's a difference between can and will. Can, but won't. I do think the characters will survive though, the company too. Again, the comics division doesn't need to be successful when the films are so financially lucrative. There's so many Batman titles now that some are actually good, or so i hear. Certainly some of those have the best art I've seen in US mainstream comics in ages. So, they'll limp along and the characters will live on in film, TV and 1 out of every 10 comics titles with them, or so, will be good. I'll just read even more manga and Euro stuff to deal with the dearth.
Yea when I was still reading modern comics Batman was the only one that kept my interest. What are good modern ones? My local comic shop has tons of back issues so that is good. I need to check out Manga

I gave up on current dc and marvel earlier this year. I used to believe that they could be saved but they can’t.
