Stop being pedantic and learn what colloquialism is. Feeling something can simultaneously express a feeling and a thought. Even more so since feelings are intrinsically tied to thoughts. You're sure as hell not randomly feeling anything completely mindlessly; there will always be a thought behind it. This should be self-evident and not in need of pointing out.
In fact, even in a thesaurus one of the synonyms for "think" is feel.
Do you THINK he handled it well, or are you feeling some kind of emotion here?
Words have meaning, feelings are not thoughts. Use your words.
